Ground breaking 2006

 

Kirt Pinho and Bill Alexander met in a bar on Majuro. Each was interested in starting a new business enterprise in the Marshall Islands. Bill had flown in to look over possibilities for a business endeavor in the islands and Kirt had just decided to look outside his general contracting firm for a new venture. By late 2005, Kirt and Bill had come up with the idea of building an off-island resort (meaning that the project would be on an island other than Majuro, the main island in the Marshalls). Construction began in mid-January 2006.

Kirt Pinho owns a general contracting company in Majuro called United Atoll. Kirt comes from a Portuguese-Hawaiian background. He was born in Hana, on Maui, and he moved to the Marshalls over 40 years ago.

Bill Alexander owns a manufacturing company in San Jose, California called California Equipment Services.  Bill is of Scottish descent with family in America by 1789. He was born and raised in San Jose and he has always cherished a dream of having his own resort.

Both Kirt and Bill enjoy being gracious host, and each will do his part to make RongRong one of the best resorts in the pacific.
